What is the Elephants Trail?

Elephants in the room

Very few people want to talk about the ‘elephants in the room’. This is made worse when people with the hardest lives are excluded from the room.

The challenge around multiple disadvantage demands that we try something different and experiment.

The Elephants Trail works to change systems that create injustice and perpetuate disadvantage. We want people to live meaningful lives with dignity and opportunity in supportive communities.

From our deep practical experience in different places, we want to:

wider influence for system change to prevent and tackle multiple disadvantage

Our funders & Supporters

The Elephants Trail has been jointly funded by the Lankelly Chase Foundation and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.

The Elephants Trail in Greater Manchester was part of the Place action inquiry, supported by Lankelly Chase Foundation. This aimed to support places to build the desired system behaviours and to make changes to improve the way that those systems function for people who face the hardest lives.
